Joji Nobu wasn't in his usual watering hole of a bar in Toronto, he was actually working out in a local gym, he had a fire in his eye that showed how focused he was; he was preparing himself for the no DQ Chaos Theory Championship Fatal Four Way match as the middle aged Japanese born Australian took on Ace Sky, the Chaos Theory Champion Sebastian Caine and Eron Hunter at April Annihilation.
J: "You know, not gonna lie, this caught me as a bit of a surprise, you have a roster full of the most talented up-and-comers in the world and you decide to put a middle aged, slightly pudgy, whiskey swigging arsehole who was a big deal in the junior heavyweight scene in Japan about 10 or so years ago...if I had any mates here, people'd say that I was playing politics."
Joji gave a chuckle as he continued to hit the punching bag, using knees, kicks and strikes to give the bag a battering as the Australian accented Asian looked to the camera, while continuing to hit the bag with some serious force; as he addressed his opponents.
J: "Ace Sky, The Galaxy Guru, hey, kid, you had a hell of an impressive debut against Buck Henry...guess that means me and you have something in common, kid, apart from dashing good looks and alliterative nicknames...but do you know what I do to young, high flyers?"
Joji gave a chuckle as he used his fingers as a gun and pointed it up into the air before making a 'Bang!' sound effect as he looked to the camera and gave a smug smirk.
J: "I shoot 'em out of the bloody sky! Now, Eron Hunter, again, you won your match against JT Maverick in impressive fashion, not bad for a Scilian lad, but, hey, I'm Australian who was born in Japan, I can't judge on that shit, the closest I've been to Italy is when me and my wife both can't be arsed to cook, so we have a pizza...but, when you step into the ring with Joji Nobu, the Hunter will become The Hunted my friend."
Joji then pointed his finger gun at the camera, as if he was hunting Eron, before Joji then turned his attention to the Chaos Theory Champ.
J: "Then, we've got the Chaos Theory Champ, Seb Caine, who actually seemed to request this match from what I heard? Hey, I genuinely respect that, reminds me of me when I was the Junior Heavyweight Champ back in Japan in my mid 20s...about 500 years ago at this point? But, this isn't to say that this match is going to be easy, all of my opponents are people who could give me major problems, I mean, I can't fly like them, I don't have the championship gold and I seem to be a bit past my prime...but that's why I'm taking this seriously, because I know that I might not get another shot at this, this is a chance for Joji Nobu to prove that, yeah he can't do the flips like he used to, but he can still be a champion at his age! Think of this as a comeback tour, an old gunslinger coming back into town to taken on the young outlaws..."
Joji then backed up and hit his Yakuz-Aus kick finisher on the punching bag that sent the punching bag off of it's hinges and crashing to the ground, with Joji looking at the downed bag, before the camera looked to the bag and it revealed that it had a picture of each of Joji's opponents on it; a clear message from the grizzled veteran to the rest of the competition.

It was a day in early spring; and as that sweet, genial time of year and atmosphere calls out tender greenness from the ground,--beautiful flowers, or leaves that look beautiful because so long unseen under the snow and decay,--so the pleasant air and warmth had called out a young man, who sat on a sunny hill-side enjoying the warm day. Eron Hunter took a deep breath, also enjoying the calm atmosphere and the scent of flowers. He looked at the camera, smiling a soft smile, and started speaking in a calm tone.
“Just like earth renews itself every spring and summer anew, just like that a great fighter feels invigorated after overcoming a great challenge that was laid bare, in front of him. After each successful fight, I feel as if I have become injected with the elixir of eternal youth.
Two dreamers, for it, is what we all are, fought against each other and one emerged victoriously. Eron Hunter bested JT Maverick, just like he said he would, but it came not without surprise. The Prodigy was a good challenge!
Not great, not championship material yet, but good and challenging nonetheless. The lad will become a great pro wrestler, one day, but until that day comes, he will have to face losses as much as he will have to experience wins. Only by learning from experience will he be able to achieve greatness.
This path is no easy one.
Victories are not handed to you just like that.
You will have to sweat buckets and spit blood until you can master the art of wrestling.
But JT Maverick is paddling in the right direction. One day he will be able to look back and say to himself that he is proud of what he has achieved and that each fight brought him closer to mastering the art of fighting.
Until then, e will have his challenges cut out for him. Just like each one of us does, just like Eron Hunter has. One day after the victory after JT Maverick, I have to get ready for another fight, coming up in more or less, two weeks.
A fatal four-way match, for a championship belt.
A fight the champion requested.
Should I feel honored I have been picked to fight in this wrestling match? I guess I should. A single victory in this federation and I am already recognized as a potential champion, and that by no other than the champion himself.
Guess my background story is no incognito, to some around here. Guess some fighters and management know what Eron Hunter can do in that ring. Guess the champion himself wants to test his abilities against potential champions and superstars.
This time he has not chosen the easy path to travel.
This time, other than what he is used to doing, he has chosen the difficult way of achieving self-evaluation. Yes, this time! Because usually, Sebastian Cane opts for the easy way. “But Eron, what are you talking about” will you say. “ He grew up without a father” will you say. “ He has been branded a deviant from society” will you say. And I agree with you on that. But where I disagree is that the path Sebastian Cane picked for himself is not the difficult one. It’s the easy one! It´s easy to stand there feeling pity for yourself and doing nothing to make things better; It´s easy choosing villainy over hard work, It´s easy to feel rejected by society and do nothing good to set things right. Easy to run into villainous doings, instead of keeping your head high and knocking everywhere to ask for a job.
I agree with everyone that says that sometimes we are a product of our society. That sometimes society says it re-educates us, while all it does is keep us closed up somewhere, just so that it can separate us from the “healthy” part of our society. And that once you´re branded a villain, you´ll always be seen as one by almost everyone.
So, I disagree with Sebastian Cane, if he says society is to blame for his shortcomings. He has to blame himself too, for choosing the easy path. He could´ve chosen better, even if it would´ve been hard to attain success that way.
He had the choice. Just like he found the right evocation, in picking up Pro-Wrestling. Do you see? Sometimes it´s just that easy to make the right choice. Does he feel like a fighter? He is a fighter. He acts like a fighter and signed a contract to be one.
That´s the right choice there!
Because of what you are, and what you crave for, you have become a wrestler and a successful one to boot. Just like that, you could´ve given your life other directions, if you only had wanted to. But that´s not the point in here now is it? We´re not here to discuss one´s choices of life, we´re here to showcase skill in the ring and only that.
Well. I disagree.
A man is not only one trait of himself. He´s the complete package.
You´re a great fighter, Caine, but you´re also a crook, which means you can take the shortcut to victory anytime. And I, Eron Hunter, will not allow you to do just that. I will see that correctness and justice are on the day´s order when we fight in this fatal four-way match for that belt you hold right there.
That´s because I am in my prime, and still got fights to fight and championships to win, until I grow into a middle-aged man, with no real ambitions and bad drinking habits to boot. Meaning I will grow into what Joji Nobu is right now.
Sure, he was once a shining star.
But those times are long gone!
Now he’s just a middle-aged man, In semi-retirement, just waiting for the right excuse to quit fighting altogether and hang onto drinking some more. I am always amazed at the fact, how much a man can sink into mediocrity and despair if he only lets himself go down.
Nobu, if you haven´t ever thought about that before, life is a gift and one should treasure it as being such, by doing the maximum a man can at any given time. You have fallen into mediocrity, and that my friend, is a sin, for someone as gifted as you were in your prime.
In this fight, I will fight you not only to defeat you but also to show you something you seem to have forgotten. That being, what it means to still have a fighting spirit and the will to go that extra mile, to achieve greatness.
You will stand there, lights out, and sense what it means to fall, from the very hands of a talented and gifted fighter as yours truly is. Unless you re-find your fighting spirit and your lost courage, you will never be a challenge for me or Caine for that matter. So wake up before it´s too late and start giving your very best, to go out in a blaze of glory.
At forty-one years of age, it´s the best you can do!
And Ace Sky?
Well, what about him. I have been in this business for long enough and I know him, although we have never met in the ring. I know it will be something of a miracle if he manages to hang on to a federation for more than e match or two.
So, I'll deal with him, if he manages to show his face in the ring, for this match.
And that´s about it, for today.”
Eron smiled and looked away from the camera.
The scene faded to black.

Ace Sky is seated in a confessional interview setting : Ace Sky: I’ve been in this business a while , professionally 23 years . Yes I am known as a high-flier I’m proud of that for sure but I am not just a one trick pony. This style I’ve set myself on mastering is a dynamic mix of Japanese, American , British-European , Mexican and even Israeli pro wrestling styles . I’m just as dangerous on the mat as in the sky . I’ve got a soccer, Taekwondo and Japanese wrestling background you can’t handle my kicks. I’ve never been satisfied with what I’ve done , I am transcendent . I’ve never been satisfied with just being capable . I started my career getting my ass kicked by untrained teens , I went on to train alongside and get my ass kicked by men twice my size and age. I went to Japan and trained in their militant dojo system . Why? Why go through all that extra work? I’m never going to be satisfied . Even if I win the championship . The championship doesn’t make you, you make the championship and if I win I will be a fighting champion .

“Live and Let Die” by Paul McCartney plays us in as we come upon Sabastian Caine. Caine is dressed identically to Patrick Bickle (Robert DeNiro) from the classic 70’s film “The Taxi Driver.” More specifically he is wearing the green military style jacket but everything else from sunglasses to boots are black. Caine has the Chaos Theory Championship belt draped over his shoulder. His “reasons” for dressing this way are known only to him. Caine for some reason is standing in front of a mirror and begins reenacting the famous “You talking to me?” scene where he looks at his reflection in the mirror and asks it if it’s “talking to him” suddenly, Caine’s reflection changes to that of his Hatter Madigan persona from years past, he nearly dies from shock but quickly regains his bearings.
Caine: What are you doing here in my reflection?
Madigan: Your reflection? How do you know you aren’t a reflection of me? And what is it that you are doing anyway? Did you ask her out yet?
Caine: Ask who out? What are you talking about?
Madigan: Victoria… Victoria McKenzie did you ask Victoria McKenzie out yet?
Caine: No, and why exactly would I do that?
Madigan: Because she’s hot and has a great personality to boot she and you would be perfect together.
Caine: In what dream world? She’s obnoxious and looks like a shaved gorilla. And besides, I heard she is involved with that Joji Nobu, the man with the Japanese body, and the Australian voice who sounds like he should be doing voiceover work for Saturday morning cartoons on obscured channels that few people watch and even have access to.
Madigan: Well, what you do is eviscerate him, disembowel him, dissect him alive and once he’s out of the picture.. Victoria will come running into your waiting arms.
Caine: I told you before… I’m just not interested in her she isn’t my type.
Madigan: What are you gay?
Caine: No… of course not… I have a certain type of woman that I go for and she just isn’t it.
Madigan: Well… If you don’t ask her out I will.
Caine: You’re dead don’t you realize that you are in fact dead?
Madigan: But if I’m dead how in the hell am I here conversing with you?
Caine: Beats me. Maybe this is a dream or a bad reaction to the Covid vaccine.
Madigan: You let them inject that poison into your body? You might as well have let a homeless person inject you with a cocktail of chemicals and see what it does to you (if anything). You gotta be nuts to get vaccinated.
Caine: And? We were kind of forced due to our line of work and them allowing more fans back into the arenas.
Madigan: And by the way why are you defending your championship against this motley crew of deadbeats and losers? These people are unworthy of a shot at your belt.
Caine: Tees pretty much said the same thing and more. He doesn’t understand but I have the need to prove myself a credible champion and take on worthy contenders. I deem these challengers worthy though I doubt others will. To make it a little more interesting, although this not an official stipulation if I lose I’m finished. That’s how confident I am in my ability to defeat these men.
Madigan: But they are ham and eggers all of them who have any of them beaten? If you do lose you really should consider retirement as you have no business being in this line of work if you can’t beat such low level people.
Madigan: Let’s run through the names shall we? For old time sake.
Caine: Ready when you are.
Madigan: The Sydney-Sendai Suplex Sensei" Joji Nobu
Caine: Going to get suplexed out of his boots and have his ass handed to him. The guy is always drunk… and I mean always but how he’ll feel after I have finished with him will be a thousand times worse than any hangover he could ever possibly imagine. I have more suplex variations as well as variations of other holds than Carter’s got liver pills. Everyone is so high on this guy but why exactly? He’s beaten jobbers for the most part and lost to a man I beat not once but twice a man who is afraid to face me again Vin Halstead. Instead of being in this match I was supposed to face Halstead in a steel cage but Halstead was too chicken shit and backed out of the match. Can’t say as I blame him I would have ended his career inside of that cage. But to quote a line from Shawn Michaels “I beat the man who beat you.” So it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that I have the capabilities of defeating you in relatively short order.
Madigan: "The Galaxy Guru" Ace Sky
Caine: Sky Is going to get grounded for life. Imagine a permanent state of sleep paralysis, where you are aware of what is going on but you can’t move and you are barely getting oxygen. This is what Mr. Sky will endure when I ground and pound his ass into oblivion. This is an “everyman for himself” type affair but I’m going to be sure to get my licks in on Sky. You ever see someone for the first time and instantly dislike that person? For me that person is Ace Sky… there’s just something about him that rubs me the wrong way. I never met the man and this is the first time I’m facing him.. but he’s one of those people who has a face that you just want to punch and disfigure.
Madigan: Eron Hunter
Caine: The Sicilian Schmuck. Like Sky I don’t know this man… have never met him but he’s a fool for getting himself into this situation. People have been singing the praises of this guy talking about how “great and wonderful” he is… but his recent performances have not impressed me at all. He’s another numbskull getting himself into a situation he doesn’t fully understand with a very dangerous person and he’s fixing to get hurt.
Caine looks directly into the camera now and speaks directly to the viewer.
Caine: This promotion is becoming a little too overpopulated. You can’t really walk down a hallway here without knocking into someone. Someone always seems to be up your ass around here and directly in your way. So I’m going to do this place a favor and thin out the heard a bit by putting all three of these men out of commission. I used the championship opportunity to lure them to their doom. They signed their death warrants by signing on to get into this match. Nothing will stop me from bringing the pain, bringing the carnage and destruction and nothing can save any of these men.
Fade out with Caine laughing manically looking into the mirror now once more seeing his own reflection leaving doubt that Madigan was ever really there.

“Overconfident and Demotivated!
Not a great combination of traits for someone who wants to be successful in a squared circle. Let alone for someone who wants to be successful at defending a championship belt.”
Eron Hunter is sitting on a cliff, in front of him, vast Greenland. He gazes towards the horizon with a calm look on his face. He doesn´t stare at the camera at all, seemingly lost in thoughts and amazed by the scenery in front of him. He stares towards the horizon some more instants and then resumes his calm speech.
“You know, Caine, when I first looked at our upcoming match, I thought you were a true champion, looking for a challenge and thus putting your belt on the line for some new competitors, who are hungry for success in this company and ready to do everything it takes, to be triumphant.
..But it seems as if I was wrong!
You don´t seem to be looking for a worthy challenge, no. From what I have come to understand from your speech and those random postings on social media, you seem to want to be taking that belt with you, on your way out from this federation. Thus you haven´t selected people you thought were a challenge.
You have selected three competitors whom you thought would fulfill the role of guest stars in your little final drama of a fight. You thought that by selecting three people without potential and chance to win the match, you would go out in a final blaze of glory.”
Eron turns to face the camera. His tranquil look is gone, where there was a placid gaze is now a fierce light. He resumes his speech, dead serious.
“Overconfident of your abilities to beat the other three selected challengers who are willing to fight for your belt, you look down upon them and think too highly of yourself. You think you will have an easy fight against three newcomers and you will be remembered as a great fighting champion…
Well, while your theory might be correct as far as the other two people who will be in that squared circle with you, you are dead wrong when you think the third one, Eron Hunter, will go down so easily and without a fight.
When you chose me as the third challenger for your belt and thought you would have an easy game, you did a grave mistake. You underestimated my skills and my resolve. You left my experience out of your evaluation.
You see, Caine, I might be fresh meat as far as FCPW goes, but sure as hell I am not new to the squared circle. I am quite experienced in this art of war we call fighting and, or, wrestling. While I might be relatively new to Pro-Wrestling- I have been around for only three to four years-, I am not new to the Art of Fighting.
Some might say I am talented, to boot.
Thus, through my talent and skill, I compensate for the relatively new career in pro-wrestling and the lack of decades of experience. While actual four years of experience are not many, they are enough to build up knowledge.
You see, I have been there too. For not longer than a month or two I faced people whom I, at first, looked down upon. I was Overconfident, as you are now, and failed to consider the possible talent. I almost lost a great challenge because of that.
That, Caine, is a mistake I will not make twice and is something that will cost you as much as possible. That, being the belt you hold so dearly in your hands. You chose three challengers and had a plan by doing so, but you did not choose wisely till the end.
As far as you’re little, possible, scheme goes, Eron Hunter will be there to see you fall. To watch you fail and walk out of FCPW with your tail between your legs. Because when you chose Eron Hunter as the final factor in your plan, you forgot that people have their own will and will not play by your rules, whenever you see it fit to make them play so.”
Eron lies back, on the cliff, hands behind his head, gazing at the clear, cerulean sky. His tone is now placid. His eyes calm again. A smile is seen on his face, as he takes a deep breath, resuming his speech.
“You are a good fighter, Caine, and a champion rightfully so. But even the greatest of fighters can’t do much in a fight when their motivation is gone. You are not here with your heart and soul, anymore, and that will be your downfall.
You´re already with your head and heart into music.
I understand what it means to like something with so much passion. What you feel for art and music, I feel for the fight and wrestling!
Thus I understand how you feel, and even more so I am in advantage over you, because while your heart belongs to art, mine belongs to fighting and Pro-Wrestling. I have all the passion in the world when it comes to the squared circle. Fighting is my life and I love my life, I love fighting.
Sebastian Cane!
This is your last fight in the FCPW and the squared circle in general. I will be sure that it turns out a night to remember, even for you, but there is something you will be lacking, in the end, result of this fight, that being…
…The Chaos Theory Championship Belt!
Good Luck in This fight Caine. You will need it.”
Eron stands up again and starts to whistle a joyful melody. He smiles as he looks at the camera.
“Nobu. Well, at least I and you are not ethnocentric, my friend. You are an Australian with Japanese roots, while I, I am an Italian with a love for Japan and its tradition and culture. I have been and fought In Japan for a while. I must say that the time I spent there has shaped my will and my being In ways I never thought possible and imaginable. Well, I must say that you being Japanese in your origins makes me want to respect you. You have a lot of experience in the ring and life in general, compared to the four of us you are the one with the most days spent on this planet of ours.
You have seen better days though, and I am positive I can master your challenge. Although you are no pushover, you seem to be a bit out of shape, to me, and that is no little thing. Since we´re playing in the big leagues now, we need all the advantage we can get, over our adversaries, and I must say that my will and my shape are way over yours at any given moment. I know I can beat you, Nobu, and I will. Come the Fight Night, you will see why people consider me an Ace of the ring, and why they think that your best days are behind you.”
Eron closes his eyes, taking a final deep breath, and spits out his final words
“Ace Sky!
I know I should not underestimate you, my friend, but as far as I am concerned…
….You are bad.
I mean, really bad. I mean, end of days and not another chance on earth to be good, bad.
So take your time and surprise me. Well, I am already surprised you decided to even take the time to speak. Usually, you disappear without a trace after a match, in every federation you´ve been in. Thus this is already an accomplishment for you. Forgive me for not believing in your capabilities. I am not saying you completely suck. Well, maybe I am. But I know that every one of us has a role to play in this.
You´re bad. And that´s somehow good. Because if everyone was a winner there would be no losers. And that means there would be no fights and matches. Thus you being bad has its advantages. Well, that´s all the positive things I can say for you…
…See you in the ring. IF you manage to find your way there.”
Eron looks away from the camera. As far as he is concerned this Promotional Video is over. The scene fades to black.

Joji Nobu was sitting there, he was watching old tapes of himself from his glory days in Japan, the video showing the then young man doing incredible dives, nailing people with stiff strikes and winning championships as one of the top Junior Heavyweights in Japan; this time, Joji didn't seem bitter as he seemed to have a genuine smile on his face; before the Japanese-Australian looked to the camera and said, in a noticeably less confrontational tone than usual.
J: "Eron; you know, mate, I've decided to focus on you doing this little video that I'm posting, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders, mate, and you seem to genuinely know of what a star I used to be back in Japan. Hell, I hesitate to even call you the Future, because, from what I can gather, you're the now."
Joji then raised a glass of whiskey to the camera and gave a respectful nod to Eron; before continuing his promo.
J: "So, I raise a glass to you there, mate; but it seems like you're underestimating me, again, you pull the whole 'old and slow' thing, as if people don't age; but it seems to me that you all have forgotten that, with age comes experience and it's not like I'm some out of touch old timer who doesn't know when to hang it up; I've not lost a step...it's more of a stumble, but, with every single stumble, you don't go falling flat on your face"
Joji gave a bit of a chuckle as he looked at the footage, seemingly reminiscing about the glory days, only to sigh, pick up the remote and switch the matches off, before looking to the camera with a much more serious tone; he put his whiskey down and had a fire in his eyes that showed that he was taking this seriously.
J: "I'm not living in the past, I know my limitations, I'm not stupid and I'm not going to insult the intelligence of my opponents that I haven't lost a step, but what I have lost in the ability to do high impact flips and dives, I have gained in ring smarts and ring awareness and that is something that only comes with experience...because you learn just as much in failure as you do in success and, at April Annihilation, all of you will be learning a lot, because you're all going to be failing and this will be the beginning of a career revival for Joji Nobu."
With that, Joji again raised his glass to the camera with a smug grin before taking a sip from it and switching the TV back on, before ending the promo.
