The segment opens to an expensive-looking Ritz hotel located in Toronto, Canada. Brian Shaw sits at his desk on the phone as he writes notes down from the conversation.
Brian- Of course, course JT will be ready to go for Sunday Night Delight. Just email the match card, and I will inform JT.
Brian hangs up the phone and turns to his laptop as he pulls up his email and sees The FCPW new match card. He hits print, and the printer starts to make noise as it prints. He slides towards the printer in his rolling office chair. He picks up the paper from the printer and jumps out of his chair as he heads out of his office.
Brian walks down the halls and enters the elevator as he presses the button that says gym on it. A few minutes pass, and the elevator stopped as the doors open up to the hotel's private gym area that JT has bought out.
As Brian walks in, we see weight sets line up alongside the treadmills and some punching bags. As the camera rolls around, it stops at a ring where JT is inside doing leg kicks and punch combinations with a local trainer. Brian walks over to the ring and taps on the apron to get JT's attention.
JT- What's up, Brian?
Brian- Just got off the phone with Mac, and he has a contract ready for you to sign.
JT- Who's the opponent?
Brian- The name on the contract is Eron Hunter. He says he started in some company called NCW won most of his matches but quit with no reason given. He later appeared under the new name Lynx as a masked wrestler in MJPW, where he won their World Championship, but the company would shut down a few months later.
JT- So let me get this straight President Mac expects me to waste my time and talent to face a nobody who couldn't even keep the doors open long enough to enjoy his reign? What a joke, I thought Mac, so the star power I have, I should compete against the best this company has to offer. Tell me, Brian, why should I accept this match?
Brian- Well, besides being under contract with FCPW. The guy is a former World Champion sure he sinks the company until they could not afford to stay open but that is not the point. A win over a world champion gets your name trending over social media and Mac will have no choice but to elevate you to the main event scene.
JT takes the contract from Brian and looks it over.
JT- Oh, what the hell let's do this thing
JT signs the contract as Brian pulls his iPhone out and takes a picture and uploads it to all social networks.
Brian- Excellent I'll send this over to Mac and get your workout schedule.
Brian walks off heading back towards the elevator as he leaves JT turns the camera to him.
JT- So there it is ladies and gentlemen the contract has been signed and the date is official on Sunday Night Delight ill make my FCPW debut against Eron Hunter. A man I do not think much of to be honest and I do not sit here talking like I cannot back up. Because If you can talk the talk but cannot walk the walk you will look like a fool. That is the risk but with great risk comes great reward and that's what I'm aiming for.
You see There’s two things I really like to do and that’s whoop ass and look good. I am doing one of them right now and on Sunday night, I am doing the other. So Eron Hunter bring your best and I'll bring mine and will see who the better man is but I already know the answer to that it's me!
I’m going to toy with you Hunter. I will rearrange your facial structure. If you have wife and kids, they will not recognize you again. His friends will know he is not the same after this contest. You are never, ever going to be the same. Your kids are going to beg ‘daddy, please don’t go again! So as I sit her confidently that I will walk out as the winner of our match and no it's not being cocky it's confidence and I bathe in it every day and come Sunday Hunter you’re going to see why I'm The Main Event, The Best in The World, and why I am The Prodigy!
The camera cuts off as the screen goes dark

The usual Tuesday evening.
He sits on an armchair, in front of a wooden table, playing chess with no opponent. Meaning he is in a race against himself. The night is young and the stars shine bright, their light making their way in the dimly lit hotel room, from the small window on the right of the wooden table. Eron makes some more moves on the chess board, after which he looks at the camera. He flashes his usual calm smile, before starting to speak in a placid tone.
“Chess. They call it the intelligent man´s game. You need to plan your own moves, while being able to foresee your opponent´s moves as well. Well, I agree, it is a game that requires some thinking and planning, before you can say you´ve mastered it.
It´s just like a wrestling match, actually. Just like a fight, to be honest. Just like war, to tell the truth. In a war or in a fight, just like in this game, if you can´t foresee your opponents moves, you´re doomed for. Each and every match, in a wrestling fight, has to be strategically planned and trained. If you go into a clash with another fighter, without having first scouted your opponent first, well…
…The least it can happen is that you find yourself with your back on the mat, staring at the artificial lights of the arena you were supposed to conquer. A wrestling match has to be prepared for, in the best possible way. You have to know your opponent better than you know yourself, in order to emerge victorious in it.”
Eron looks at a figure on the chess board, a soldier, he moves it and looks at the camera again, tranquil as always.
“ My first match in FCPW, and I have my fight cut out for me.
JT Maverick.
The Prodigy.
A second generation fighter, skilled to boot, with an impressive record in the disciplines he has practiced. The only thing that surpasses his fighting skill?
His Ego!
I am told the kid has a really bad temper, something that surely will hinder him when it comes to winning his true wars. You know, Maverick, it is easy to go sixty to null, when fighting small fries. The problem is, when your adversaries start being something more than punching bags.
Then and only then, will your motivation be truly tested.
How will you react, when your first opponent in FCPW does not go down so easily, and even when he does, he will be up in no time, telling you that that was nothing? How will you manage to stay calm, when you cannot win in the first three minutes of a fight, like you´re probably used to?
You know Maverick; the world is full of physically gifted fighters, whom never made it to superstar status, because of their temperament´s shortcomings. To be a skilled fighter, to be a complete warrior, you need not only have talent, no, you also need to have character strength.
I am sure you will storm FCPW with the entire possible furore, and demand attention, because you are the “Oh so talented Prodigy”. I am sure you will find some excuses for the first loss, and then some more for your second, after which, you will find yourself with your tail between your legs, if you manage to lose your third match in a row.
So, big shot, tell me, what plans do you have for your existence in FCPW?
I mean, when you understand that you are not the gift from the heavens, which you thought you would be? You know, I’ve been in the fighting scene for a long time, I can sense a flake when I see one. And you JT Maverick seem just like the typical good for nothing, incompetent, flashlight that losses its shine and vanishes into nothingness, after getting a beating from the pair of hands he so looked down upon. “
Eron shakes his head; he looks at the King, on the chess board, and moves it forward
“ One becomes a true fighter as much from his losing’s as he does from his victories. Well, what I am trying to tell, is that you ain´t got what it takes to be championship material, when it comes to wrestling. This is not the usual “ Big fish in a small pond” anymore. This is the Big Leagues, chump, and it requires much more than raw talent, in order to become victorious.
It takes true character strength.
Something you´re probably lacking.
You think I am wrong? Prove me wrong.”
Eron makes his final move on the chess board.
Check Mate!
Fade.

Prodigy- a person, especially a young one, endowed with exceptional qualities or abilities.
The segment opens to the office of Brian Shaw he sits on his desk wearing a lights out T-shirt and some Levi blue jeans with black Nike sneakers on. Be hide him he has his laptop open with the FCPW home page on screen. He presses his mouser and clicks on the Eron Hunter video he watches it closely and listens to every word said. He clicks on video once more and pauses it as he turns around to the camera.
Brian- Good afternoon everyone and welcome to my office I’m sure your wondering why I have gone live right now but it should be obvious really but if you lack the brain cells to put the puzzle pieces together then shut up and listen up. Because what I have to say is always controversial.
You see earlier today Eron Hunter made an intriguing video and hats off to him. (Brian starts sarcastically clapping towards the camera) Your speech about playing chess was outstanding and everything you said was correct if we were playing a board game. Last time I read the contract JT sign the name of the company was Full City Pro WRESTLING! Seems like you and a lot of boys in the back forgot about that.
He takes a sip of water from his bottle that sits on the desk after he has done, he puts it back down.
Brian- Now I know you thought you would hear from JT Maverick himself, but you see JT is a professional and knows what it takes to win a match. He is not playing games like yourself Mr. Hunter oh no he is in training as we speak. Working on games so why you talk intellect you sure do not show it. Now enlighten me Mr. Hunter you say the biggest thing next to my clients talent is his ego but are you stroking your own ego when you say my client fill face defeat ,by the hands of you? You see you speak so highly of yourself saying you have been in the wrestling game for years, but nobody even knows your name.
Brian chuckles to himself as he smirks towards the camera.
Brian- So in the grand scheme of things your nothing more than a journeyman a steppingstone for my client to elevate himself to the next level leaving you be hide as always or maybe you will QUIT! You said it yourself you quit when things were starting to get tough. What’s wrong Eron could not handle the pressure? Of course, you could not that is why you disappeared until the heat was off you but even then, you did not have the balls sack to comeback under your original name. Oh no you choose to hide your coward face and put on a mask and changed your name to Lynx and sure you say you went unknown to test yourself. (He uses his hands to throw up quotation marks) but Like I said you were too much of a Coward to use your old name Vagabond because you’re a quitter and I’m sure President Mac wont put to much stock in a man that quits but also sinks a wrestling promotion to the point they can’t recover.
You won the MJPW Junior Heavyweight Championship and the company was marked from the day forth the time was ticking on its very existence. Unable to sale tickets because you couldn’t draw a dime to the arena, and you call yourself the greatest champion ever what a joke I cant wait for TJ to give you a reality check sir.
You see you talk a good game and we were almost impressed but then we realized you have reached your ceiling. You talk about my client being one of the guys that loses his shine unfortunately for you sir that statements resonate more with you. You’ve reached your peak we’ve seen how good you can be and it wasn’t much you’ve burnt out at every promotion you’ve wrestled in and at Sunday Night Delight JT Maverick is going to treat you how an Anacondas treats his prey you talking about getting back up but JT is going to wrap his legs around your scrawny little neck and squeeze until the life of you fades away if your foolish enough not to tap out that is, but I’m sure you will Hunter because you’ve quit before so I know your character and we know your weakness.
So, with that said sir I hope you bring your best because I can guarantee JT Maverick is honing his skills and making his weakness his strength and come Delight it will be LIGHTS OUT!
The Segment ends as Brian Shaw cuts off the camera.

A park, near a lake, somewhere in Europe.
Eron Hunter is sitting on a bench, a guitar in his hands, playing some chords now and then. The music is calm and relaxing, Eron is seen flashing a tranquil smile at the camera as he tries to play the guitar. Some passerby occasionally hand him some coins, Eron smiles again and starts speaking in his usual tranquil tone.
“You know, reality is a matter of perception, most of the time. More times than not, what we perceive depends on how we interpret that very stimulus. You see, me, I am playing this guitar for my own pleasure. I know I suck at it, but if I like what I do, then what does it matter?
Some people passing by see this the way I see it, they think I’m just having some fun, playing some chords and whatnot. Others see me as a street artist, trying to make a living. It´s not what I am, but who am I to burst their bubble?
People can believe whatever they like; they can interpret the world the way they please, as long as their beliefs and interpretations do not harm others. JT Maverick thinks he is a Prodigy, in his own right, while I think that he´s just a chump who has yet to swim in deeper waters.
As I told him, he has yet to test himself in true, blue competition. I told him that, because it´s the truth. A fighter’s greatness is measured by the strength of his adversaries. And as far as I am concerned, JT Maverick has, until now, been just a big fish in a small pond.
I told him that I knew this, because I´ve been fighting for as long as I can remember. That´s right, I said fighting, not wrestling. I´ve been fighting for as long as I can remember, since I left my rich family, to become a man standing on his own two feet…
…Street fights, Octagon, Bar Room Brawls. You name it; I have been there and done that.
But it wasn´t till I entered the world of Pro Wrestling, that I understood what it meant to be tested against superior competition. That´s why I told JT Maverick that he has yet to be tested, that he still has a long way to go. It was not something I made up, I spoke from experience.
Well, as far as JT Maverick goes, I still have to hear and understand what he really thinks. He has chosen not to speak for himself; instead he has chosen to let his manager do the talking. Well, if a man has better things to do than speak to his opponent, then more power to him.
Just do not give me the usual “He is fierce because he is training” antics.
Boyo, we are pro-wrestlers, training is part of our daily routine, and we simply do it each and every day. We do not need to boast with it. Four hours at the gym, that´s routine. I do not need to mention it in my promos, to make myself look tougher than the rest.
All the men and women that fight here, they all train day in and day out, to be ready for each and every upcoming challenge, It´s the normal gig in the world of Wrestling. So JT Maverick, you´ve chosen to let your manager do the talking….
..I hope you do not let him do all the thinking too, because as far as I can see of him, he seems to have straw where he should have brain. What else can you say of a man whom does not understand the term “Metaphor”, when he sees one applied to regular circumstances? Surely, I was playing chess, in my first promotional video, and that had its goal, as a metaphor. It was to show you that the fight we are constantly involved in, is a game of wits, more than just a show of muscles and brute force.
But your manager, JT, seems to fail at comprehending the simple truths of life. I hope, for your own good, that you are man enough to be able to think for yourself, because a man who lets others do the thinking for him, well let’s just say that he will find himself in precarious situations more times than not.
This, JT, is the line of thought of a man who has been able to stand on his own two feet, since he was nothing more than a snot nosed punk. I´ve been able to make my own decisions and feel the consequences, for as long as I can remember.
Some may call me a Vagabond; some others may say I am unstable. I can accept these thoughts and make them mine, more times than not. It´s true, i´ve been traveling the world since I was nothing more than a kid. It´s also true that I’ve spent my time going from place to place..
..But rest assured that it was never a case of me being unable to bring fortune to them places. If anything, I was the reason these places existed for as long as they did. Since MAX J closed its doors, I’ve been wandering from place to place, testing the ground and trying to understand which place was the right place to call home.
Yes, I’ve been wandering for a long time now.
But no longer than a couple of days ago, I understood something very important. That being that I am tired of wandering and that I am ready to call a new place home. In a fight against a fierce opponent, days ago, I understood that I’ve found a new resolution. And that, that resolution makes me a complete fighter. A fighter against whom you have to be really prepared, if you want to have the chance to be competitive.
I lost a fight, days ago, but I did not see it as the end of the world. Instead I see it as a chance to become better, to grow as a fighter even more.
That is the I difference between you and me, JT.
Me, I can accept a loss. I grow a better fighter after each one.
You?
You must win at all costs, in order for you to be able to look at yourself in the mirror.
There Is something you have to learn from life and wrestling. That being, that modesty is golden
That´s what I have learned from this life, amongst many other things
And I will teach that to you, with each and every boot I smash against your skull.
That´s it. Get ready and Be ready, for I won´t be going easy on you merely because you´re green behind the ears.”
Eron smiles and restarts playing some chords on his guitar, before the scene fades to black.

Prodigy- a person, especially a young one, endowed with exceptional qualities or abilities.
Segment opens to Tristar Gym in Toronto, Canada. The Gym is own and ran by former UFC fighter Georges St-Pierre. JT Maverick has been training under him for the last few weeks to get ready for his debut match in FCPW.
As the camera circles around gym we see a media session set up. A long table sits on a stage line up with microphones. Media members sit facing the table eagerly ready to ask their questions. GSP sits at the table already as he taps on his microphone to get everyone’s attention.
GSP- Good afternoon everyone thanks you for coming. JT Maverick and his manager Brian Shaw will be out shortly, and we can begin the media session.
The doors to the gym push open as Brian Shaw is the first to be seen wearing a black tailored suit. JT Maverick appears from behind him he is wearing a prodigy T-shirt with mma training shorts on and black Nike sneakers. They take their seats at the table as the media session begins.
Brian Shaw- Ok let’s get started.( He points to James Dougall FCPW interviewer) First question.
James Dougall- Yes Brian Shaw what do you have to say about the comments made by Eron Hunter?
Brian Shaw- Well seeing how the guy likes to run his mouth you'll have to be specific James Dougall.
James Dougall- Saying your client has yet to test himself and come Sunday he'll find out what it’s like to be in a ring with real competition. How do you respond?
Brian Shaw- For one I think it is sad that Eron Hunter thinks so highly of himself. He talks about JT's ego and his soon expected failures. When Eron himself is a failure already just read the information that is out there on him. He's the one that's afraid of real competition, he's the one that runs every time real competition runs through the door.
So he should be asking himself what is he going to do when he fails again, when the pressure adds back up is he going to disappear without a trace? Or will he return under a new name wearing a mask to hide his shame. You decide next question. (He points to Marie LaFleur)
Marie LaFleur- Yes what do you think about the comments when Eron said he's not a wrestler he's a fighter who's been fighting since he left his rich family to become his own man.
Brian Shaw- I would say good to him but he's failed at becoming a mad man. Unsuccessful at his last few promotions unable to stay consistent with his craft. Mr. Hunter talks a big game with no credible history to back it up he calls himself a fighter because he left his rich family.
My client was forced to give up his childhood at age seven and was forced to trained everyday none stop if it wasn't physical training it was mental training. So, Mr. Hunter can forgive us if his sad story about him leaving his loving home to pursue a pipe dream just does not impress us! Next question( he points back too James Dougall)
James Dougall- Yes what about his statement that JT is not a man because he lets you do all his talking?
Before Brian Shaw can answer JT puts his hand over Shaw’s microphone and stands up with his microphone in hand he takes a walk across the stage, then turns around and starts talking.
JT- You know I've been here training with GSP here for the last couple of weeks getting ready for my debut and I got to say I've been listening I've head Eron loud and clear and I hear am and this is what I have to say. I am my own man you may look down on me for the lifestyle I have Hunter but do not ever make the mistake. That I don't have two balls down here like you.
You ask if I'm a man I say show up Sunday Night on Delight and I'll show you how much of a difference of a man I am. You want to keep asking me the same stupid question what am I going to do when I lose my first match? I can tell you what I won't do I won't quit when I lose my first match I won't show back up under a new name because I'm too a shame to deal with my failures.
You see I understand what it takes as an athlete, you'll never feel bad about losing, but what you will feel bad about is underperforming. That is a real thing and it happens a lot when we do not live up to our potential. And that keeps you up at night and can give you years and years of regret. It could be a relationship, it could be a homework assignment, or it could be an athletic competition. If you don't go out and perform to the best of your ability, it will really bother you and that's what's it's done to Eron he could never really handle failure.
I know how to break you Eron Hunter I know your weaknesses. As soon as you start to get tired, as soon as you start to get behind, a lot of doors open up to quit; and you'll gladly walk thru those doors why I find that one reason to stay in that battle, one reason to stay in the fire and fight. That's the difference between you and me.
For me, and people like me, fighting isn't what we do; it's who we are and that's why I laugh when you say we all trained the same because we're all pro wrestlers. You be wrong again Hunter. As you can see, I do not go to your average training gym. No, I seek out the best because I want to be the best. When I say I’m a Prodigy I just don't say it to hear myself talk I say it because I know it to be true why your training with the joes of the world I'm training with former greats. I take this business seriously. I take winning seriously and most of all I take beating the best seriously but unfortunately you are not one of the best to ever do it you’re a journeyman a false prophet who think he has all the answers, but come Sunday night Delight I'm going to beat the reality into you. Than after the match I'm going to cut your head off carry it in my hands as I walk to President Macs Office and drop your head on his desk and then he and everyone else will know I am The Best in The World, The Main Event, The living Prodigy JT Maverick!
JT drops the microphone on the stage and walks off as more media members try to ask him questions. The scene fades.

Calm night.
The sun has set down, clouds cover the night sky but there is enough light in the small room we find ourselves in. The table, near which Eon Hunter is sitting, is filled with empty bottles of liquor. There is a half-full glass near Eron´s hand. Eron smiles…
He is wearing a black T-shirt, with “Dreams are my Reality” written on it. He smiles some more instants and then begins speaking in his usual calm tone.
“Here is a toast, to you JT Maverick…
…Yep, tonight we drink to youth!
The headstrong, blood boiling, age of “I don´t give a damn” and “Bad things happen only to others”, the usual age of energy and careless acting. What would the world be without youth? Well, JT, you´re only something like four years younger than me. So I shouldn´t be looking at you and thinking I’m looking at a child.
But, the way you act.”
Eron shakes his head
“When I look at you, I understand the experience gap between you and me is abysmal. True, you´ve been fighting since you were a kid, but you don´t act like that. True, you have a tremendous record of victories, outside of wrestling, but you still don´t seem to have developed that awareness. The awareness of someone that can understand the danger that lies in front of him.
You are a prodigy, JT.
With what you have managed to accomplish outside of the world of Pro-Wrestling…
I truly can understand where that ego boost comes from.
And you are persistent. Like a cockroach. You are enthusiastic and come back for more. It truly makes you a fighter to watch for. Competition should fear you and be conscious of what stands in front of them.
You are a great fighter...”
Eron crosses his arms on his chest
“But, as I said in my first promotional video, you still haven´t got what it takes to be championship material!
True professionals know what it means to stand in the ring with a gifted fighter. They know what it means to stand in front of talent, mixed with the right amount of experience. They would know what it means to be aware of the danger standing in front of them.
You?
You seem to downplay everything that makes the fighter standing in front of you, a great fighter. I, JT, too have been fighting since I was but a mere punk. Thus I got experience. I have been traveling the world, seen and lived in different cultures. Thus I have learned to see reality, with different pairs of eyes, from different perspectives.
And, what is more important, I have always had the strength to fight for my dreams. I have made sacrifices, to reach out for them, grab them and make them mine. I am a fighter, JT, and I am a dreamer.
Dreams are my reality. “
Eron nods, in agreement
“One of my dreams? To be the best wrestler I can and live a life full of wondrous fights. I am close, very close, to achieve that dream. Fighting a plethora of fighters, one better than the other, has helped me become almost perfect.
Almost, that is.
I, too, have my shortcomings.
I have been a stray for far too long, searching for that place to call home, and that has shaped my persona in different ways. Some advantages and some disadvantages to it. Being a stray has increasingly helped my intuition; I can consider a situation from different perspectives in a matter of seconds. It also has had its bad effects. I have yet to learn how to stay put for longer than an instant.
I am working at it though.
I have finally found a place to call home.
And, also, another place which I might be able to call home soon. That place being FCPW.
Thus I can consider myself a rich man. I can fight great fights and experience grand events not only in one place, no, but I can also be active and fight in two great federations at once. FCPW has some great talent and being able to challenge them in wrestling matches will help me become the fighter I always wanted to be.
And it all starts with you, JT Maverick, but it won’t end here. My story in this federation will be a long one, and I will do my best for it to be a successful experience to boot. I am glad I will be able to test my resolve against a prodigy, in my very first fight here, but I also am convinced it won´t be the last match for me in FCPW.
It will all be an uphill battle. As I said, this federation has its share of great talent. But I am more than ready and able to face every one of them. It’s my story. This is my very own story and I am its determiner.”
Eron leans back on the chair, he looks at the table and at the empty liquor bottles.
“I am no longer a stray and I will fight with my very last breath so that I can make FCPW the place to be. Not only for me but also for every new fighter that desires to shape himself into a great fighter and a great champion. I will be there, providing assistance in the only way I know, fighting with these youngsters and giving them precious advice, so that they can learn and grow. And, as I said before, it all starts with you. You can take my words, make them yours, and become a great wrestler, or you can stand there, shrug it off, and act as if nothing was said and done. Or better, feel offended and take it all very personally; which, in the bitter end, it truly is.
We place our health and our future on the line, each fight anew. We live our dreams or see them shattered in front of us, by someone standing in the opposite corner. Thus I won´t act as if this was not a personal matter. It truly is.
I have placed my dreams on the line when facing you JT, and I will not allow them to be crushed by you, or by any other opponent. I will do my best so that I can emerge victorious from this fight, but even if it ain´t so, I will not shatter and break. I will learn my lesson and move on, onto new and better fights.
So, do your worst JT.
I´ll do mine.
Let´s see who the better fighter is.”
Eron looks at the half-full glass. He grabs it, taking some big sips from it, as the scene fades to black.
